Volley Dogs Get 22nd Win in Senior Night Match
Fisk defeats Oakwood in straight sets in home finale.
NASHVILLE (October 24, 2024) – The Fisk University Lady Bulldog volleyball team honored four of their players before the match, then went out and swept Oakwood University for the second time this season (25-16, 25-17, and 25-22). The match was closer than the score would indicate, as Fisk (22-14, 13-1 HBCUAC) had to rally late in each set to get the win.
HBCU Athletic Conference Setter of the Week Trinity Britt registered her twelfth double-double of the season with a 23 assist, 12 dig effort. Grad student Sydney Willis led all attackers with nine kills. She was supported by senior Trinity Crawford and Reagan Jones with eight kills apiece. On defense, Nialah Gupton scoped up a game-high16 digs.
The Lady Bulldogs will hit the road for their final regular season game when they take on Talladega College. A Fisk win would make them the HBCUAC East Division champions.
