Tiger Baseball Has 2025 Season Opener At Home For The First Time In History

Mitchell, S.D.- Tiger baseball made history this afternoon having their 2025 season opener on home turf at Drake Field. Dakota Wesleyan hosted Valley City State for their first double header of the week. Both games consited of 7 innings. The Vikings took game one, 8-4 and also took game two, 9-4.

Key Stats:

DWU: Short stop, Joseph Tharaldson had 4 RBIs and 1 run. Right fielder, Caleb Meyers had 4 runs. Center fielder, Lane Darrow had 1 run. Left fielder, Diego Jirau had 2 RBIs. Shane Cowan and Ean Laird each had 1 RBI. Landon Ruesink also had 1 run.   

VCSU: Goya had 1 run and 4 RBIs. Papineau had 1 run and 5 RBIs. Rogers had 1 run. Pero had 3 runs and 1 RBI. Morcom had 3 runs and 4 RBIs. Logan had 4 runs and 1 RBI. Velasco had 1 run and 1 RBI and Wielgosh had 2 runs.

 

Looking Ahead-

The Tigers will be back at home on Saturday, Feb. 1st, for their second double header of the season against Dickinson State (N.D.).
