
Baldwin City, Kan. - The Central Methodist Men's Basketball team dropped a tough road contest to first-place and No. 6 nationally ranked Baker University Wednesday night in Baldwin City, Kansas.
Central fell to the Wildcats by a score of 94-62. The Eagles now stand at 12-12 and 9-11 in the Heart of America, while BU improves to 20-3 and 17-2 in conference action.
The Eagles got off to a slow start in the opening half, scoring 22 points. Baker came out firing on all cylinders, scoring 54 first-half points, which included 10 three-point baskets.
CMU and Baker scored 40 second-half points, but the Wildcats' big first half proved too much to overcome for CMU, as they cruised to a 32-point victory.
Brandon Tchouya was Central's only double-digit scorer, recording 17 points on six-of-nine shooting from the floor. Mario Fantina nearly cracked double figures with eight points in 22 minutes off the bench.
The trio of Bol Tong, Christian Barbieri, and Thomas Sowoolu each chipped in six points, while Will Hemme led the efforts on the glass with seven rebounds.
Baker edged Central on the glass, 39-35, and shot over 50 percent from the floor and 46.7 percent from the three.
The Eagles will next travel to Peru, Nebraska on Saturday, Feb. 8, to face Peru State at 4:00 p.m.
