
DEFIANCE, Ohio -- Lauren Dioszegi batted 3-for-4 with four RBI and a game-changing home run as the Siena Heights softball team earned a 14-7 comeback win over WHAC opponent Defiance on Saturday. A second game was originally scheduled, but was postponed to a later date.
The Saints had trailed 5-0 before Dioszegi connected for a 3-run bomb in the fourth. The Saints then plated nine in the sixth and two in the seventh.
Emma Marshall added a two-hit game with two RBI. Faith Breinager, Lee Clinton and Ellie Thelen scored two runs each. Thelen and Liberti Fair had two RBI apiece.
Shyann Truax was the winning pitcher, running up 11 strikeouts in seven innings.
During the Saints' sixth, Breinager had an RBI single before Clinton, Fair, Thelen and Truax drew bases-loaded walks. Emma Fair added an RBI groundout, Marshall hit a two-run single and Dioszegi provided a run-scoring single.
Liberti Fair and Thelen had RBIs in the seventh.
Siena Heights is scheduled to play a non-conference game Sunday against Indiana-South Bend, beginning 1 p.m.
