
Carbondale, Ill. - The Central Methodist Women's Basketball program took on NCAA Division I member Southern Illinois-Carbondale in an exhibition game Monday afternoon in Carbondale, Ill.
The Salukis defeated the Eagles by a final score of 74-38.
SIU-Carbondale started off with a strong 17-9 first quarter lead, shooting seven-of-21 from the floor and outrebounding CMU 15-9.
The second quarter brought more of the same, as SIUC put 20 more points on the board compared to the Eagles' eight. The Salukis shot 45 percent from the floor while the Eagles shot just under 31 percent..
The Eagles responded well in the fourth quarter, having their best offensive output, scoring 15 points while shooting 33 percent from the field, and 43 percent from beyond the arc.
Trishelle Porter led the Eagles with 13 points while Sa'Mya Stevens finished the afternoon with six points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Central will return to conference action Wednesday, Dec. 4 to take on Baker. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. inside Puckett Fieldhouse.
