Volleyball hosts No. 1 Northwestern
FOREST CITY, Iowa - The Waldorf volleyball team hosted the No. 1 team in the nation, undefeated Northwestern Wednesday at Hanson Fieldhouse for a GPAC matchup. The Red Raiders would sweep Waldorf, 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-11).
Northwestern showed why they are tough to beat early on. They raced out to a 7-2 lead. A Kenzie Kidd kill kept Waldorf within 5. But the Red Raiders would build a double digit en route to a 25-10 first set win. Northwestern scored the first seven points of the second set. A Kaylin Koch kill kept Waldorf within reach at 14-7. Northwestern would build another double digit lead and take a two sets to none lead. They would take the third set 25-11 to claim the match.
Kenzie Kidd led Waldorf with eight kills. Reinya Balderson had 10 assists. Kaylee Kidd led with 14 digs.
Waldorf (10-13, 4-10 in GPAC) next plays Saturday at Briar Cliff.
