Men's Basketball Falls Short at Great Lakes Christian

WAVERLY, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team fell to non-conference opponent Great Lakes Christian, 80-76 on Wednesday. 

Jailen Campbell led the Saints with 25 points and 17 rebounds, while Jasiah Rainey had 12 points and five assists. 

SHU (0-2) after being tied at 29 with 1:35 left in the first half, went on a 9-1 run to take a 38-30 lead going into halftime. 

In the second half, the Saints remained hot as they held a 46-37 lead after Jasiah Rainey made a jumpshot at the 15:50 mark. 

Great Lakes Christian eventually chipped away at the deficit, going on a 13-4 run in a span of six minutes to tie the game at 50. The Saints responded after a three point jumpshot by Jasiah Rainey to put the Saints back up by five with 7:14 remaining. 

The Saints mainatined their lead at 69-63 until Great Lakes Christian was able to complete the comeback with a 17-7 run to end the game. 

The Saints will return to action in an exhibition match-up on Friday, Nov. 8 at Eastern Michigan. After the exhibition, the Saints will be back on Tuesday, Nov. 12 with a 7:30 p.m. tip against Kuyper.
