ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team defeated Defiance in their WHAC conference opener, 55-51 on Saturday.
Jonas Tester led the Saints with 15 points, four rebounds, and three steals while Kobe Clark added 14 points and four assists. Off the bench, Brent Wiles contributed with nine points.
Also for SHU, Nate Houston III grabbed 12 rebounds along with Jailen Campbell adding five rebounds.
SHU (1-3) held a 29-22 lead at halftime as Campbell started the second half with a layup. Defiance and SHU played a tight second half as Kobe Clark scored the final field goal for SHU to put the Saints up 53-46 with 1:59 remaining. To end the game for the Saints, Nate Houston III made the game-sealing free throw to put the Saints up two possessions and win 55-51.
The Saints will return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 20, with a 7:30 p.m. EST game at home vs Aquinas.
