The SUNO Knights baseball team secured a 15-6 victory over the Rust College Bearcats on March 25, 2025 in Holly Springs, Miss. in a HBCU Athletic Conference game. With the win, the Knights improve to 12-4 in the conference.
The Knights' offense saw players contribute in this first game of a three-game series. Kerrigan Edmondson, Miles Bowens, Dylan Jimenez, Peyton Strahan, Danny Aleaga-Fonseca, and Avery Spiggs all crossed the plate, with Bowens, Edmondson, Jimenez, and Spiggs also driving in runs. Highlighting the offensive onslaught, Bowens notched a homerun and drove in five RBIs.
Chris Green, starting pitcher for the SUNO Knights, went five innings and gave up five runs on 10 hits. Derrick Johnson, Jr. relieved Green and allowed one run on three hits.
The Knights next contest is the second game of a double-header against the Bearcats, set for 4 p.m.
