(Ann Arbor, MI) Concordia Women's Soccer returned home for a conference match against the Siena Heights Saints. Siena Heights struck first, but the Cardinals kept it to just a one goal deficit in the first quarter. The Saints offense erupted to start off the second half and resulted in an 8-1 win for the visitors.
The Saints jumped out to an early lead with a goal in the first four minutes, but the Cardinal defense settled in after that for the remainder of the half. The Cardinal back line and Hayley Jacobson kept the Saints at bay to make it just 1-0 at halftime.
Siena Heights opened up the second half with a flurry of goals, starting with one just under two minutes into the half. The Saints tacked on another five in the following 15 minutes. Concordia responded with a goal when Samantha Kohls struck one into the far corner from 20 yards out and near the far touch line. Siena Heights added on one final goal in the final 11 minutes to secure their 8-1 victory. Hayley Jacobson concluded the game with 14 saves.
Next up for the Cardinals will be an away match at Madonna on Saturday, October 5th. Kick off is set for 11:00 AM in Livonia.
