Women's Volleyball Salvages Weekend Split With Sweep of #RV Cornerstone

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's volleyball team bounced back with a 3-0 sweep of WHAC opponent Cornerstone on Saturday. Set scores were 25-22, 25-23, 25-22. The host Golden Eagles received votes in the latest NAIA poll.

Devyne Eisenhauer had 11 kills and 10 digs while Olivia Norman put down 10 kills for the Saints (16-5, 9-3). Emalee Maesch added nine kills and 13 digs.

Also for SHU, Aubrey Bates made 38 assists and Melina Hanes totaled 14 digs and five aces.

Siena Heights led the majority of the first set after taking an early 3-0 lead. Cornerstone (15-9, 7-5) pushed itself into a 16-16 tie before SHU regained command with an 8-1 run.

In the second set, SHU trailed 6-3 before clawing back into the first of five ties in the set at 6-all. The final tie, at 23-23, was broken by kills from Jessica Holsapple and Kei Sullivan.

The third set featured six ties -- the final one at 7-7 -- before Siena Heights took the lead for good.

The Saints will return to action on Friday with a 7 p.m. home contest against Lawrnece Tech.
