Tigers Stay Hot with Back-to-Back Wins Over William Penn and Park-Gilbert

Tucson, Ariz. - The Dakota Wesleyan with two wins to open up the week over William Penn (Iowa) and Park-Gilbert (AZ).

Game 1: Dakota Wesleyan 9, William Penn (Iowa) 0

The Dakota Wesleyan Tigers showcased a dominant performance, shutting out William Penn 9-0. The Tigers' offense was on fire, racking up 16 hits, while pitcher Alison Ernsberger delivered a stellar complete-game shutout, allowing just four hits and striking out six over seven innings.

McKinnely Mull led the offense with a 4-for-5 performance, driving in three runs and adding a stolen base. Peyton Bagley and Jordyn Blogg each contributed an RBI, while Ernsberger helped her own cause with two RBIs at the plate.

The Tigers struck early with three runs in the second inning and tacked on insurance runs late, including a five-run explosion in the seventh. Defensively, DWU was flawless, backing up Ernsberger's strong outing.

On the other side, William Penn struggled to generate offense, leaving six runners on base. Their pitching staff had difficulty containing the Tigers' lineup, giving up 16 hits and seven earned runs.

With this impressive win, DWU continues to build momentum as they move further into the season.

Game 2: Dakota Wesleyan 10, Park-Gilbert (AZ) 4

The Dakota Wesleyan Tigers continued their strong season with a commanding 10-4 win over Park-Gilbert (AZ) in Tucson, Arizona. A six-run sixth inning broke the game open as DWU secured their 17th win of the season.

Park-Gilbert started strong with two early runs, but the Tigers quickly responded with a three-run second inning. Ashlen Johnson highlighted DWU's offensive explosion with a home run, while Sophie Wietzema and Peyton Bagley each added key extra-base hits.

Johnson, Bagley, and McKinnely Mull each drove in two runs, with Wietzema and Jaden Warner also contributing RBIs. Avery Perkins had a solid 3-for-4 performance at the plate, while Madison Moore added a stolen base.

On the mound, Keirstyn Krcil earned the win, pitching six strong innings, allowing three earned runs on nine hits while striking out two. Alison Ernsberger closed the game with a scoreless seventh inning.

For Park-Gilbert, Mady Lackey provided a spark with a solo home run, but defensive struggles proved costly, as they committed three errors.

With this victory, Dakota Wesleyan (18-5) continues their impressive run, while Park-Gilbert falls to 5-6 on the season.
