
Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's Basketball team survived a second half comeback to defeat Haskell Indian Nations University, 75-71 Monday night inside Puckett Field House.
With the win, the Eagles improve to 2-0 while the Fighting Indians are now 0-2.
Central held an eight point advantage at the halftime break and led by as many as 15 early in the second half. However, Haskell began to chip away at the Eagles' lead and came within single point after a pair of made free throws with 4:05 to go.
A bucket from Brandon Tchouya put Central in front 70-67. CMU never reliquished their lead, going on to earn a four-point win.
Tchouya led all scorers with 23 points in addition to six rebounds, four assists, and a block. Destin Jenkins followed with a double-double on 19 points and 10 rebounds along with three assists.
Senior Bol Tong also registered a double double, scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
The Eagles held a slight advantage on the glass, outrebounding Haskell, 38-36.
Central heads out on the road for a non-conference matchup against Columbia College Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in Columbia, Mo.
