Eagles Fall in Regular Season Finale at Park

Parkville, Mo. - The No. 21 Central Methodist Volleyball program fell in its final regular season game of the year against Park University Tuesday night in Parkville, Mo. 

Central fell to the Pirates by scores of 25-20, 25-18, and 25-19. 

Sophomore Martina Gonzato led the Central attackers with nine kills on 21 swings. Super senior Annabelle Maassen followed with seven kills to go along with 12 digs. 

Joana Milho finished the evening with four kills, followed by Leticia Barea with three and Lauryn Farish with two. 

Freshman setter Giulia Gainelli dished out a team-leading 17 assists followed by Gabi Owczarek with 12. Owczarek also tallied five digs and a service ace. 

Rita Campos led the defense with 16 digs.

As Heart Regular Season Champions, the Eagles have earned the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Heart of America Conference Tournament. Central will host No. 8 seeded Peru State College on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 1:00 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
