Knights inch closer to first win, fall to Arlington Baptist in Tri-Meet
Texarkana Texas - The SUNO Knights took on the Arlington Baptist Patriots as part of a tri-meet on September 9th in Texarkana, Texas. The Knights could not pick up the win but continued to grow and show their growth as a team. Three knights scored 4 kills or more, as freshman Taszia Adkinson led the team with five. Defensively, Armoni Harris once again led the game with 13 digs, continuing to be a bright spot for this team.
In the first set, the Knights put themselves in a 15-4 hole due to many errors but continued to battle back and bring it within 10 due to play from sophomore Malaysia Hudson who earned two kills during this stretch. It was not enough as the Patriots pulled away and took the first set 25-11. The Knights shined in the second set of the game earning their most kills and least errors of the game and it showed as the largest lead of the set was five for either team. It still was not enough as the Patriots pulled away late and took the set 25-17. In the third set, the Knights early on took advantage of errors from the Patriots and took a 12-8 lead as Harris and Adkinson put their stamp on the game. They continued to trade points back and forth until the Patriots went on a 7-1 run to pull away and win the final set eventually.
The Knights will look to get a W in the win column on Friday, September 13th as the Knights will take on the Faulkner Eagles in Alabama at 6 PM CT.
