Warriors fall in home opener
FOREST CITY, Iowa - The Waldorf women's soccer opened the home portion of the 2024 season Tuesday night against William Penn. The Statesmen pulled away late to hand the Warriors a 4-1 setback.
William Penn got the game's first goal in the 31st minute on a Lina Regadane goal. They would keep that 1-0 lead going into halftime. Luca Szucs converted on a penalty kick in the 53rd minute to extend the lead to 2-0. Waldorf countered four minutes later. Off a ricochet, Paige Spatorico drilled in a goal to cut the deficit to 2-1. William Penn added a pair of late goals to secure the 4-1 win. Isabella Bell saved five shots in net for Waldorf.
Waldorf (0-2) heads east for their next contest, Saturday at Judson (Ill.)
