MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. — The No. 16 Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball team hosted Taylor University (8-15, 4-8) on Saturday, October 12.
The Cougars won the first and second sets (25-16, 25-23), but momentum began to swing after the Trojans took the third set 25-22. In the fourth set, an intense back-and-forth battle was settled as the Lady Cougars finally triumphed by a final score of 32-30. MVNU is now 22-2 on the season and 9-2 in conference play.
Heavy hitting by the senior Lyssi Snouffer, junior Faith Maloney, and sophomore Libby Evanshine helped contribute to the Lady Cougar win. Assisting the hitters, Reagan Nuss and Bella Claxon made their mark on the day for MVNU, combining for 58 assists. Jaelyn Tang made a big impact defensively with a career-high 27 digs.
