OWENSBORO, Ky. – The senior day event began with the women's soccer team taking on the number seven team in the conference standings as the final six conference teams come down to the wire. The Bearcats took the loss 2-1 despite starting with the lead. They extend their record to 4-9 overall and 2-4 in RSC play.
As the seniors take the field for the second to last time on their home turf, the Bearcats drew first blood in the 21st minute. A ball played into the middle off a free kick led to an inside pass to Maci Uffelman as she created her own shot to the back right post from outside the box.
That would be all the scoring the Bearcats did as the Bears of Shawnee State tie the score in the 60th minute and take the lead in the 85th.
The Lady Bearcats take the field next Thursday, Oct. 24th, against IU Kokomo at 4pm CT at home.
