Lady Pioneer Volleyball took on the Lady Lions of Freed-Hardeman University this evening for their second matchup of the season. In the first meet-up, CRC fell after four sets but it would only take three sets in tonight's contest for FHU to claim the second win over the Pioneers. The Lady Pioneers drop to 6-13 on the year. Sets went as follows: 13-25 FHU, 22-25 FHU, and 14-25 FHU.
Henderson, TN- In this evening's non-conference matchup, the Lady Lions of FHU controlled the tempo of the game by outpacing the Lady Pioneers offensively with 48 kills with a .248 hitting percentage. After falling in set one, CRC rallied their best run of the contest in set two as the Lady Pioneers summoned a huge 9-1 run, trailing 13-23, almost flipping the script but would fall short as Freed-Hardeman would escape the threat thanks to their game-best 19 kill effort this set. With all the momentum, the Lady Lions would end the contest with a set three win by a gap of 11 points, sweeping CRC. Brooklyn Cross led the Lady Pioneers with 6 kills and added 4 blocks. Hannah Halverson led in digs with 14, Mallory Hollis added 10 digs, and Jadyn Hesse led in assists with 8.
