(RV)/#11 Jags sweep Texas College thanks to long ball
TYLER – A couple of late home runs helped power the UHV baseball team to a win and conference sweep of Texas College on Sunday.
Jose Montanez's two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning lifted the Jaguars to a 6-4 win over the Steers at Woldert Park and extend the team's winning streak to six games.
Hal Perez did the heavy lifting to help UHV (15-2, 6-0) erase a 4-1 deficit, homering twice on Sunday. The first was a solo home run in the fifth before the senior from Camuy, Puerto Rico, blasted a two-run shot in the seventh to tie the game at 4-4.
With his 3-for-5 performance on Sunday, Perez extended his hitting streak to four games. Montanez has delivered RBIs in each of the last four games.

The Jaguars opened the scoring in the first when Jean Michael Gonzalez came around on an error.
