Lady Warriors Tested in Last Nonconference Matchup

Sterling, Kan.- The Lady Warriors faced the Oklahoma City Stars last Saturday. Sterling took a hard loss with a final score of 11-1.

The Stars took a solid lead in the first period, earning 6 goals within the first 24 minutes of the match. It seemed as if the Stars had opportunity after opportunity to make a shot, and the Warriors did not. Eventually, Emorie Sautter was able to find an opportunity for the Warriors and give them their first and only goal of the afternoon.

When the second period started the Warriors kept on fighting to inch towards a moment to come back. Goalie Dixie Morgan for the Warriors had a few great saves on the net, protecting the match from having any larger of a lead.

Oklahoma had 22 shots in the first period and 15 shots in the second period causing them to take the win over Sterling. The Warriors were only able to get off one shot in the first period and none in the second. Dixie Morgan did what she could accumulating 10 saves, five in each half.

Although the match did not go the way of the Warriors, they still fought till the last second and made great defensive plays.

Next up, the Warriors face the Bethany Swedes on the road on Wednesday, November 18 at 5 pm. This is the kickoff to the conference season for the Lady Warriors.
