V-Hawks Swept in ONU Tri

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo Men's Volleyball team fell to Olivet Nazarene University 3-0 (26-24, 25-23, 25-12) and Governors State University 3-0 (25-13, 27-25, 25-17) on Saturday afternoon. The V-Hawks sink to 4-26 (CCAC 0-10).

Ethan Davis opened the match with a kill followed shortly with a three point run Davis and Riley Connors taking kills. The V-Hawks would continue to closely trail Alex Kratzenstein grabbing the next two kills. Keeping the set close Davis would take a kill for the lead though the Cougars would take the last three points.

Viterbo, in am effort to open set two strong would put Styrk Myhre at the net with a solo block and two kills. On a five point run Connors would claim a kill followed by a block by Davis and Justin Kratzenstein. Logan Amdur would take a service ace followed by Davis and Connors kills.

A Kraztenstein would open the third with a kill from Amdur, followed by an ace by Daxton Marschall. The V-Hawks grabbing another ace by Max Dugan, though the Tigers would go on a seven point run, A Kratzenstein collecting two kills and a block.

Davis led the V-Hawks with 12 kills, Amdur set up 27 assists, and Dugan took 11 digs. Jaiton Kamaunu led the Tigers with 10 kills.

The V-Hawks down two opening match two of the day, Jack Peroz would send over an ace, Connors taking a kill set up by Roman Rzeszutko. Following a three point run by the Cougars, Jake Schradle would collect an ace before a five point run.

Connors would open the second set with a pair of kills on a four point run. Trading for a three point run of the own GSU would end their run with a kill by Davis set up by Myhre. Connors would take the next two V-Hawk kills, Garran Wilming continuing the scoring with a kill of his own.

Viterbo grabbing a kill at the net by Myhre would lead to two A Kratzenstein kills. Davis ending a seven point run by the Cougars with back to back kills before Rzeszutko would grab a kill of his own from Vincent Troung.

Davis led with 11 kills, Rzeszutko with 17 assists, and Dugan with 15 digs. Daniel Lopez led the Cougars with 13 kills.

The V-Hawks return to action Saturday, April 5 at Lourdes.
