Pioneers Fall in St. Louis, MO- Wil Teague, Sports Information Director, 2/13/25

Coming off an American Midwest Conference win this past Tuesday against the Mustangs of CBC, the Lady Pioneers fell this evening in St. Louis, MO to the Spartans of Missouri Baptist University. MBU improved to 8-11 in conference play, dropping the Pioneers to 3-16 in the AMC.

St. Louis, MO- Missouri Baptist claimed tonight's conference matchup with a 24-point spread despite seeing the Lady Pioneers challenge the hosting Spartans by cutting their lead to just 6 points in the late stages of the third quarter. The Lady Spartans controlled the contest never trailing the Pioneers, outshooting CRC 45.0%- 30.2 % from the floor, and outrebounding CRC 55-27 for the night. The Pioneer defense forced 22 turnovers from the Spartans while only surrendering 10 of their own. Still, even with the feisty Pioneer defense, it wouldn't be enough to bridge the gap on the scoreboard. Ansley Dawson led the team with 16 points, Brooklyn Kearbey added 13 for the Pioneers.
