DUBUQUE, Iowa - Playing their second game in just three days, the Clarke Unviversity women's soccer team upped their offensive output in a 5-0 victory over Coe College on Saturday evening.
In a full display of game control, the Pride did not allow their opponent to get a shot off or get a corner kick attempt to outshoot the Kohawks 34-0 over 90 minutes and finish with eight corner kicks to none for CC.
The goals weren't necessarily in bunches as CU got two first half tallies, first from senior Bailey Wiemann who scored in the 18th minute off of an assist from Laryssa Pritchard for her second-straight game with a point, then Jaycee Page would make it 2-0 in the 26th minute.
Wiemann would get back on the scoresheet in the second half as she would assist on a 51st-minute goal by Abby Prunty as the next two goals would come about 15 minutes after the previous with Sophie Spicuzza scoring on an assit from Hailey Packer in the 66th minute, then Marcela Fajardo capping off the scoring in the 81st minute to make it 5-0, where the score would end at the final whistle.
Clarke women's soccer will kick off another two-game week next week with a pair of home games, first when they host Viterbo University at 5:00 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Aug. 27 as the opening end of a doubleheader against the V-Hawks with men's soccer.
