
Point Women’s Soccer shows Offensive Versatility in the road win at Trinity Baptist
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Aug. 31, 2024) - The Point University Women's Soccer returned to the pitch for a nonconference matchup against Trinity Baptist College where the Skyhawks took the win with a final score of 6-0.
The first half opened with a freshman connection as Ari Wincek connected with Isabella Frullaney for her first career collegiate goal to bring the score to 1-0. Point's first-half momentum continued with Kelly Rowland surging past the Eagles' defense to increase the first-half lead by two. As Point looked to continue to attack, Morgan Pent entered the fray with her first career goal to go into the half with a 3-0 lead. The second half added more energy as Point focused on team play with getting everyone involved. As Hannah Delp sent in the free kick, an own goal by the Eagles helped extend the score with Delp being counted for the assist. The Skyhawks proved to not be complacent as Cassidy Harrell added a corner throw to assist Mia Bonner on the header goal. Harrell added another assist as she connected with Lorelei Lewis to bring the score to 6-0. Point completed the shutout on the road to give the Skyhawks their first win.

Point Women's Soccer saw three freshman players score their first collegiate goal. (Isabella Frullaney and Mia Bonner) Senior, Morgan Pent has been on the defensive end throughout her career but was on the offensive end today with her first goal in a Skyhawk uniform. Lorelei Lewis has shown that she has something to prove by returning from a previous injury that halted her last season. Lewis continued her mission by scoring her first goal since returning from injury. Lisa Kelm earned the start in goal and added two saves. Jaynee Malcolm appeared in goal and played 49 minutes in the contest.
