NOTRE DAME, IN - In the program's first ever trip to Holy Cross, UNOH women's soccer buried three goals in the first half and capped the day with a fourth in the second for a 4-1 win over the Saints.
It took less than two minutes for the Racers to find their first goal of the season with Inga Ehrenfried connecting with Katie West at the 1:36 mark. Holy Cross answered with their only goal of the day just four minutes later, but the UNOH goals kept coming. Ehrenfried created her own chance in the 23rd minute with Nanna Rosengreen notching the team's third four minutes later. In the second half, Airi Tanooka found Anne Sjolte to seal the win with a fourth goal in the 60th minute.
The Racers put 15 of the 18 shots on goal while holding the Saints to five.
Sophia Eisner handled the duties in front of goal for the first 45 minutes making four saves. Freshman Silje Eikeland finished off the second 45 but was not needed to make a save in her collegiate debut.
UNOH will return home Wednesday, August 28 to take on (RV) Taylor at 4:00 PM.
