Men's Lacrosse Outflank Shorter

ATHENS, Tenn.- The men's lacrosse team opened the season with a win on Tuesday. Tennessee Wesleyan defeated the Shorter University Hawks 14-3.

The Bulldogs scored the first six goals of the game. Kennedy Moore was responsible for two of the first three goals while Jameson Koch scored off a AJ Carsto assist. Hayden Harmon, who scored twice, and Carsto gave the team a 6-0 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter ended with TWU leading 9-2. Jack Driscoll scored the first goal of the quarter for the team, moving the score to 7-1. Harmon and Driscoll each added a goal to give the team their seven-goal advantage at halftime.

Three goals were scored in the third quarter, two of which were scored by the Bulldogs. Driscoll and Moore scored to give the team an 11-2 to begin the fourth quarter.

To get to their 11-point margin by the end of the game, TWU saw goals by two more goals by Moore and a goal by Koch.

Moore led the team with five goals in the game while Driscoll had three goals and two assists. Jack Shaw got the win in the net.

The schedule sends the Bulldogs (1-0) on the road for the first time to face Southern Virginia University on Saturday. The game is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
