FULTON, Mo. – In one of their final matches before KCAC play starts next week, Avila volleyball was swept by William Woods tonight, 3-0.
Avila was not able to get much going in mid-Missouri this evening, as Megan Davies led all Eagles players with nine kills and Daphne Gardner paced Avila with 13 assists.
The Eagles got off to a quick 2-0 start in the opening set before the Owls rattled off seven-straight points before ultimately taking the first set, 25-14.
William Woods handled the final two sets, winning 25-10 and 25-12.
Avila has two more nonconference matches before opening up KCAC play. Avila will host UHSP (1 PM) and Haskell (5 PM) on Friday at Mabee Fieldhouse.
