Lady Eagles Fall to Columbia in Regular Season Finale

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (10/29/24) – The Williams Baptist University women's soccer team lost the final game of the regular season to No. 11 Columbia on Tuesday afternoon by the final score of 8-0.

Columbia got the scoring started in the eighth minute, then followed with another score in the ninth to take a quick 2-0 lead.  The Cougars added four more scores before the halftime whistle to take a 6-0 lead into the locker room.

The Eagles only shot on goal game in the 32nd minute from Victoria de Abreu, it was saved by the Cougars goalkeeper.

Columbia scored its seventh goal in the 48th minute to open the second half, then scored once again in the 50th minute to take an 8-0 lead.  The Eagles shut down the Cougars for the rest of the game.

Eagles keeper Lisa Craig played the first 74 minutes of the game in goal, grabbing 11 saves.  Gracielee Edwards finished the game between the posts and grabbed three saves.

Williams Baptist will await its opponent in the first round of the American Midwest Conference Tournament.  The tournament is hosted by campus sites.
