BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Olivet Nazarene University's men's volleyball team delivered a dominant performance on Tuesday night, sweeping Trinity Christian College 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-13) at McHie Arena. The Tigers controlled the match from start to finish, hitting an impressive .460 as a team while holding Trinity Christian to a .061 hitting percentage.
ONU controlled the first set from the start, jumping out to a 4-0 lead behind two kills from Brody McAfee and a pair of attack errors from Trinity. McAfee notched his third kill to put the Tigers up 13-6, sparking a dominant stretch where ONU rattled off four of the next six points, highlighted by kills from Jaiton Kamaunu and Jackson Harvey. Trinity struggled to respond as the Tigers continued to apply pressure at the net. Cameron Johnston delivered a kill to make it 24-12 before Trinity scored two more points. An attack error ultimately sealed the set for ONU, 25-14.
The Tigers took control of the second set midway through, fueled by a strong service run from Max Rodenmeyer. Rodenmeyer delivered a service ace to put the Tigers up 13-12, then followed with a clean setup for a McAfee kill to extend the lead to 14-12. After a Trinity timeout, ONU capitalized on the momentum as Marquez and McAfee combined for a block on Trinity, giving the Tigers a 15-12 advantage and forcing the Trolls to play from behind the rest of the set. An attack error by Trinity sealed the set for ONU and put them up 2-0 on the match.
ONU's dominance peaked in the third set as the Tigers hit .615 with zero attack errors. Harvey sparked an 8-4 start with two kills off of serving by Tomas Gonzalez. McAfee and Marquez combined for a block to extend the lead to 10-4. McAfee continued his strong performance, adding a service ace to make it 18-8. The Tigers maintained their momentum, capitalizing on multiple Trinity errors. Hunter DeMello delivered the match-winning ace to cap off the 25-13 set win and the sweep.
McAfee led the Tigers with 11 kills on a .529 hitting percentage and added three aces. Gonzalez recorded 18 assists, and Marquez contributed three service aces and four block assists. Harvey finished with six kills and two block assists.

ONU returns to action on Mar. 21st for a home conference matchup against Bethel University at 7 p.m. CST.
