KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Avila women's soccer recorded their second-consecutive victory on Wednesday afternoon in the team's home opener, defeating Park, 1-0. After going three years without a nonconference win, the win marked Avila's second-consecutive victory outside of the KCAC.
A defensive battle throughout the entire game until an 84th-minute goal on a breakaway from freshman Cali Lasater settled the score line.
The star of the game was senior goalkeeper Kenan Ebal, who stopped all eight Park shots on goal for her first shutout of the season.
