Skyhawks fall in the storm of the Tornadoes

TALLADEGA, Ala. (Dec. 2, 2024) - The Point University Men's basketball team returned to the court at Talladega College for a Southern States Athletic Conference matchup that ended with the Skyhawks falling to the Tornadoes with a final score of 67-49. 

During the first half, Talladega held the lead entitling comfortability for the Tornadoes. However, Antwon Ferrell added a steal allowing Tanner Higgins to make a 3-pointer. As the game proceeded, the Skyhawks started to fill the score gap ending the half at 29-26 still favoring the Tornadoes.

During the second half, the Skyhawks struggled to gain traction after O'Brien Watkins made a 3-pointer, making the score closer to 33-31. Although he fought to close the gap, the Skyhawks could not make another point until Tanner Higgins made another 3-pointer, scoring 48-34 with ten minutes left in the half. Sam Rees ended the game with a jump shot, making the final score 67-49. 

 

In the Box:

Tanner Higgins led the game with 14 points and three rebounds. Vince Graves added 10 points, two rebounds, and two assists, and Antwon Ferrell followed with eight points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
