
Lady Cougars Face Tough Test Against No. 7 Wildcats in Top 15 Match
MARION, Ind. — The No. 15 Mount Vernon Nazarene University Cougars women's volleyball team (24-3, 11-3) faced off against the No. 7 Indiana Wesleyan University Wildcats (24-2, 14-0) on Wednesday, October 23, in a nationally ranked Crossroads League matchup at Luckey Arena.
In the opening set, the teams were neck-and-neck, tied at 13-13. IWU broke away with a run, leading 22-15. MVNU mounted a comeback, cutting the deficit to 22-19 and forcing IWU to take a timeout. However, IWU held on to win the set 25-21. The Lady Cougars couldn't find their rhythm, dropping the second set to IWU with a 25-15 scoreline. Set three mirrored the beginning of set one, remaining tightly contested and tied at 13-13 midway through. The Wildcats got on a run going up 22-17. The Lady Cougars battled fiercely, but IWU prevailed, winning the third set 25-22.
