Women’s Soccer Iced by #3 William Carey

WEST POINT, Ga. (Oct. 16, 2024) - The Point University Women's soccer team returned to the pitch for an afternoon Southern States Athletic Conference home finale against #3 William Carey. The Skyhawks fell to the Crusaders with the final score of 7-0.

 

The SSAC matchup started hot with a one-sided offensive threat from William Carey. The Crusaders added two consecutive goals to finish the first half. The Skyhawks attempted to fire back with two shots in the second half, but the Crusaders were able to hold them off. Continuing into the second half, William Carey found the back of the net five more times, with three of the goals coming within five minutes of each other, ending the match 7-0.

 

In the Box

Lisa Kelm tallied 12 saves as the starting goalkeeper for Point. Jaynee Malcolm towards the end of the second half with one save.
