BLACK-HARMON’S DOUBLE-DOUBLE FUELS SWEDES PAST PANTHERS

Lindsborg, Kan. – The Bethany College Women's Basketball team played host to the York University Panthers in a contest that featured three Swedes scoring in double-digits. You can't lose if you win every quarter and that is precisely what the Swedes did enroute to an 83-51 win.

Janae Black-Harmon and Celina Eisenhardt would each pour in 15 points. Black-Harmon would pull in 10 rebounds (eight offensive) to secure her third double-double of the season while also recording a team-high four steals and three assists. Jaden Newfarmer would tack on 13 points while reeling in eight rebounds. She would also nab two steals and swat a shot. Emily Green and Ray Richardson would each dish out four assists.

The Swedes shot a respectable 44.4% (7 for 15) from downtown while holding the Panthers to 12.5% (2 for 16). Bethany doubled up York in the rebound category with 46 rebounds compared to 23.

The three-point shooting for the Swedes forced the Panthers to stretch out their defense allowing the Swedes to get buckets on the inside with 42 points in the paint. The Swedes' largest lead of the night was 35 points.

The Swedes will host the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles who are on a two-game losing streak. The last time these two matched up, the Eagles came out victorious in Bartlesville, Okla. 60-56. This time, the Swedes play host and are looking for some retribution. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 1, in Hahn Gymnasium.
