MARION, Ind. – RV Taylor (7-4-2, 4-2-0 CL) played an even match but could not find the back of the net in an eventual 3-0 loss against cross-county rivals No. 17 Indiana Wesleyan on Wednesday night.
The Trojans had one more shot than the Wildcats, with 11 compared to 10, and forced seven saves as they searched for life in a close match not reflected in the final score.
Brooke Cimini and Morgan Fletemeyer each had a pair of shots on frame, while Audrey Grimm led the squad with a trio of attempts.
Indiana Wesleyan (10-2-2, 5-0-1 CL) was prolific in the first half, scoring all three goals in the first half hour of the match. The three goals were too much for TU to overcome despite dominating possession and shots in the second half.
Taylor continues Crossroads League play with a home match against No. 8 Spring Arbor (10-3-0, 5-1-0 CL) next on the docket, scheduled for Saturday, October 19, with kick-off set for 7:00 pm.
