LIMA, OH - After winning the away leg 84-73 over Cleary early this season, UNOH women's basketball completed the season double with a 78-62 win at home Saturday afternoon.
The early minutes went back and fourth with Cleary working out their largest lead of the day 7-4 at the 6:25 mark. UNOH rattled off the next eleven points to take over the lead 15-7 and didn't trail again. The Racers took a six point lead after one and turned it into 15 by the break to lead 42-27 at halftime. The Cougars kept fight and shaved the lead back to eight at the 7:48 mark of the fourth quarter, but the Racers were too much down the stretch finishing off the 78-62 victory.
The WHAC's top scorer, Alysia Lawson, was the game's leader once again bagging 29 points on 11-24 (46%) shooting from the field giving her 57 points against Cleary in two games this season. Jayci Allen posted her fifth double-double of the season and second consecutive with 13 points and twelve rebounds falling just three assists short of a triple-double. Alayha Allen also recorded a double-double, her second, scoring ten and grabbing eleven rebounds adding two assists and a block.
The Racers held Cleary to just 35% shooting as a team while hitting 46% and out rebounding the Cougars 43-38. UNOH also racked up 24 assists, their most since November 13 (29), turning 18 turnovers into 22 points.
UNOH will look to make it four wins in-a-row when they host Defiance on Wednesday, January 29.
