Crete, Neb. – The Bethany College Swedes Men's Basketball team to the road again, this time to Crete, Neb. to take on the Doane University Tigers.
The Tigers would open up the scoring with a made layup on their first possession. The Swedes would tie it up at 2-2 following a JR Cison jump shot about a minute later. Cison would hit another jumper on the next possession to give Bethany the lead. Both teams played a bit sloppy to start the game as only a combined eight points were scored in the first five minutes of game time. Scoring would start to ramp up on the both sides, but the Tigers would begin to swell their lead utilizing a 37-17 run to close out the half.
The second half witnessed a combined 97 points scored as both offenses would find their grove. Unfortunately, for the Swedes, they would be outscored 49-48 to fall 90-69.
Emmanuel Akpan would lead Bethany in scoring with 18 points going a perfect six-for-six from the field. He would also lead the Swedes in rebounds with eight. JR Cison was the other Swede in double-digit points with 15 while also dishing out two assists.
Defensively, Devin Spencer would rack up three steals while Nash Johnsen recorded the lone block of the evening for the Swedes.

The Swedes will begin a four-game homestand starting on Saturday, November 2 against the Oklahoma Panhandle State Aggies. Tip-off is set for 5:00 PM in Hahn Gymnasium.
