Rio Grande,OH: On November 2nd, the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles  traveled to the Buckeye state for a two game series. They would face the hosts from Rio Grande in match 1 and then played fellow Kentucky squad Georgetown College in the nightcap. Once the day had concluded, ALC would come out on the short end of the stick and drop both matches.

 

Match 1

RGU-3; ALC-0

The first matchup was against powerful Rio (24-8; 12-2 RSC) in River States Conference volleyball action. The Eagles (6-25-0-14) dropped the match in straight sets.

 In the opener, the Buckeye squad would jump ahead 10-4. From there, they would close with a burst to take the contest, 25-12.

Game 2 started out identical, as Rio lept out to a 10-4 advantage, and just like the first game, they would pull away, taking the contest 25-12.

In Game 3, the home club went up 9-4 , but the Bluegrass ladies refused to quit. They would put up a fight, but eventually drop the contest, 25-19 to close the match.

Kylie Ward and Jadyn Hall produced 7 and 6 kills while Rose Scotello came through with 11 big assists. Camryn Thompson led the squad with 2 service aces, and 6 digs. Gracie Hall added 5.

 

 

Match 2

GC-3; ALC-1

In the opener, Georgetown (7-16) had to fight for their lives as ALC matched them point-for-point. Unfortunately, with the score tied at 23, a pair of errors handed the Tigers a 25-23 victory. 

 Set 2 saw the Lady Eagles (6-26) fight hard and take a slight lead. After a furious battle and leading 24-23, Ward would unleash a big kill to hand Alice Lloyd the thrilling 25-23 win.

 In set 3, the central Kentucky squad exploded out of the gate with a 15-3 blitz. From there, they held on for the 25-13 win.

In set 4, the Lady Eagles hung close, only trailing 16-13. From there, the Tigers would close with a 9-4 run to win 25-19 and take the day.

On the night, ALC's Scotello (9) and Ward (7) delivered the kills, and Taylor Cox dished out 12 assists. Gibson was the digs leader with 19 while Cox and Hall tied with 1 service ace apiece.
