No. 8 Grace Edges Past UNOH 92-84

WINONA LAKE, IN - UNOH men's basketball went toe-to-toe with the No. 8 team in the country Friday night, but the Lancers managed to fend them off in the end, 92-84.

The game was tight in the first half with no more than two possessions separating the teams for most of half. The Racers cut the lead to four with just under two minutes left before the break, but the Lancers put up the final five points to hold the largest lead to that point, 43-34, at halftime.

Grace managed to pushed the lead to double-digits to start the second building their largest lead of the game, 67-51, with less than ten minutes to go. UNOH wasn't finished yet and rattled off a 13-3 run over the next three minutes to cut the lead back to six. The Racers continued to match step-for-step and trailed by just five with 86 seconds to play. The Lancers were composed from the charity stripe converting seven of eight attempts down the stretch to ice the game.

Ryan Archey and Antonio King were the games top two scorers putting up 25 and 24, respectively. Archey shot 10-20 from the field and 4-5 from outside adding five rebounds, two steals and one assist. King went 9-16 (56%) in the game pulling down a game high seven boards with an assist, a block and a steal.

It was a hot shooting night for both teams with Grace hitting 50% and UNOH 48% from the field. Rebounds were also tight leaning 40-37 for the Lancers. The biggest difference came at the free throw line with UNOH hitting just 56% as a team to 75% for Grace.

The Racers will return to the Lancer Tipoff Classic on Saturday to face Bethel with a 12:00 PM tip.
