FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Defiance College Yellow Jackets faced back-to-back shutouts in its Tuesday afternoon doubleheader against the Taylor Trojans.
Game one ended 5-0, while the Trojans (7-1) took game two on the neutral field 17-0.
Anika Craft pitched the first contest, striking out three batters, walking a trio and allowing 10 hits. The Defiance (2-6) defense didn't give up a run until the bottom of the third inning, which was followed by another pair of scorers in the fourth. The game's runs were completed with a final Trojans score in the fifth. Craft and Haley Hughes each had hits for the Yellow Jackets.
In the second game, Defiance was held to three hits and two walks through five innings.

Defiance heads on its spring break trip to Melbourne, Fla. where it will compete in the Space Coast Spring Games. The week commences on Sunday with back-to-back contests against Florida Nationals and Midland. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
