Emily Newton scores a career-high 15 points at Westcliff

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – By hitting 4 of 9 shots from the floor, including three baskets from three and all four free throws, Emily Newton scored a career-high 15 points in Saturday's Cal Pac game at Golden West College in Huntington Beach, California.

Cal Maritime's defense also enjoyed a strong fourth quarter by limiting Westcliff to only six points on 17 percent shooting (2-for-12) overall. 

Unfortunately for CSUM, the host Warriors doubled up on its first quarter scoring (18-9) and led for the entire afternoon in a game they won by a 53-38 result. 

Dylan Fulton added 11 points for the Keelhaulers and fell one rebound shy of recording a double-double in her team's weekend finale in Southern California.

Cal Maritime will take a brief break from conference action to host UC Santa Cruz at PEAC Main Gym Thursday, at 5:30 p.m., before returning to the road for its next Cal Pac game, slated for February 1, against rival Pacific Union.
