LIMA, OH - After giving up an early goal, UNOH women's soccer played from behind for most the day. The Racers kept pushing and found a way to net two in the final eight minutes of the match to save a 2-2 tie with (RV) Taylor.
The Trojans struck first with a perfectly placed corner kick that was headed by the keeper in the seventh minute. That's where the match would say through an hour of play before Taylor added a second on another great delivery from the wing. Chasing the game, UNOH kept pressing and eventually the pressure paid off in the final eight minutes. After earning a corner kick, Nanna Rosengreen's kick deflected off a defender straight in the path of Minni Laukka at the top of the penalty box. Laukka kept the ball low and threaded it through several bodies into the bottom corner. Four minutes later, the Racers thought they tied the game but were spoiled by the Trojan keeper who's diving save set up another corner kick. Nanna Rosengreen once more took the kick and placed the ball right on the far post. Jasmin Tadina came streaking through the box and met the ball at just the right moment to force it over line and level the match with less than four minutes to play.
After struggling to create openings in the first half, UNOH outshot Taylor 12-3 in the second half and 8-3 in corners.
The Racers will stay home for the second of three straight on Saturday, August 31, taking on Governors State at 5:00 PM.
