No. 5 BCU Downs Women's Basketball at FT Line

Women's Basketball took on No. 5 Briar Cliff on Saturday afternoon in Crete. The game would ultimately come down to foul calls which BCU turned into 12 more points in a 76-63 win.

Macy Holtz led Doane with 24 points while pulling down five rebounds. Maddie Portwine and Libby Trausch added nine points apiece. Megan Chambers led the team with seven rebounds and five blocked shots while Mak Hatcliff recorded five steals.

Doane pulled within seven points with 4:23 to play in the game after trailing by 24 points in the second half. The Tigers were then tagged with four fouls in less than two minutes, including two on the offensive end and fouling out two players, which allowed the Chargers to push their lead back to double-digits.

The Tigers will look to rebound on January 26 when they return to action in a road contest at Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell, S.D. Tipoff is set for 12 PM.
