
TIGERS STUMBLE AGAINST No. 9 CUMBERLAND IN 2-0 LOSS
BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - Olivet Nazarene University (ONU) women's soccer team faced a tough challenge on Saturday, falling 2-0 to Cumberland University in a hard-fought home match. Despite a strong defensive effort in the first half, the Tigers were unable to keep the Phoenix at bay in the second half.
After a scoreless first half, Cumberland broke through in the 66th minute, finding the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead. The Phoenix quickly added a second goal just minutes later in the 70th minute, extending their lead to 2-0. Despite ONU's efforts to respond, they were unable to create the chances needed to overturn the deficit.
Looking Ahead
The Tigers will look to regroup as they stay at home for their next match against Marian University. The game is set for September 2nd, with a 5 p.m. CST kickoff at Snowbarger Athletic Complex. ONU will aim to bounce back and secure a positive result in front of their home crowd.
