This past Thursday, October 24th, CRC Lady Pioneer Volleyball faced off against the Lady Patriots of Mission University in an American Midwest Conference matchup in the Carter Activities Center. The contest went four sets, with the Pioneers succumbing to Mission University. The Pioneers fall to 6-12 on the season and 2-5 in conference play. Sets went as follows: 26-28 MU, 22-25 MU, 25-20 CRC, and 16-25 MU.
Paragould, Ark.- Though the Lady Pioneers would fall to the Lady Patriots, CRC would defend its home court fiercely with the Lady Pioneers narrowly falling in sets one and two by a combined gap of just five points, including a game-starting extended frame set loss in the opening set of 26-28. In set three CRC would finally strike back, fending off the home court sweep with a big five-point win before succumbing to the Lady Pats in set four as Mission found fifth gear, and bounced back defeating CRC by a gap of nine, 16-25.
Sophomore Brooklyn Cross was the evening star as Cross produced a career and team-season-best effort of 16 kills on a .448 hitting percentage while also posting a career-high 7 total blocks in the contest. Two Lady Pioneers crossed the 20 mark in digs with sophomore Mallory Hollis pacing the team with 23 and senior Hannah Halverson following with 20. Lastly, for assists, senior Jadyn Hesse led with 18 while freshman Madelyn Burris followed with 14.
