DES MOINES, IOWA – The Mustangs wrapped up another Heart of America Conference season series today, falling to the no. 6 Grand View Vikings 25-19, 25-21, and 25-16.
Jacob DePauw and Donte Jennings ran the offense, each tallying 11 assists. Kirby Schmalz continues to be a leader on the attack, striking for 10 kills. Jennings followed with seven, and Mohamed Benkrid had six.
Ian Smith had four block assists and a solo block to lead the defense at the net, while Jennings and Schmalz had two assists each.
Owen Anderson scooped four digs, Jennings and Tucker Juhnke had three each, and Schmalz and DePauw each had two.
Morningside will get a break from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics top-15 list for a game as it heads to Culver-Stockton on March 21, but then turns to Missouri Valley, who is currently no. 11 in the country.
