WASHINGTON, Mich. - In a packed-in Michigan Stars Sports Center, the Warriors (1-4-5, 1-2-2) and Lawrence Tech Blue Devils (3-4-2, 1-1-1) traded 34 total shots in a contest that ended in a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon. After the Blue Devils took an early lead in the first half, the Warriors' Kaylah Joyce found the back of the net early in the second half to help the Warriors break even. Goalkeeper Sabrina Kiryakoza logged eight saves for the Warriors, facing 17 total shots.
THE RUNDOWN
FIRST HALF
- The game was a thriller from the start, with both teams having shots ring off the crossbar in the first half. The Warriors produced several shot-on-goal opportunities to get things going, but it would be the visitors getting the first point of the game, scoring thanks to a ball bouncing the Blue Devils' way after a scrum. The teams continued to fire shots at goal, with Kiryakoza making a big save to end the first half
SECOND HALF
- It wouldn't be long after the second-half clock began ticking that the Warriors would get their chance, with Joyce emerging from a pile of players to fire the ball into the back of the net. From there, both teams continued to attack each other, with RCU nearly connecting on a few chances. Kiryakoza added two more clutch saves in the final eight minutes to help keep things at a tie
