DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance College Yellow Jackets held the Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines to the fewest goals all season Saturday at Winsper-Knobel field, ultimately dropping a 14th game, 1-0.
Emmi Pinkowski of the Wolverines (2-10-2, 2-6-0 WHAC) knocked one over the head of Defiance (0-14, 0-8) goalkeeper Taylor Osbourne in the 16th minute, which started and ended the day's scoring. Offensively, the Yellow Jackets struggled to make runs at the goal with only three shots in the match, two on goal. On the defensive end, DC was forceful in stopping 30 of 31 shots and allowing four corner kicks.
The Turning Point
Following Pinkowski's goal, Defiance came up with nearly 10 blocks to save any additional goals from being scored, halting the Wolverines' pending momentum.
