Volleyball opened the conference slate on Wednesday evening at Hastings. The Broncos, receiving votes in the latest NAIA poll, picked up a three-set victory over Doane, 25-20, 25-18, and 26-24.
Kayden Schumacher led Doane with 11 kills while Taylor Sluka added nine kills. The Tigers finished with 33 kills as a team. Camdyn Carpenter dished out 19 assists and Chloe Rose added nine.
Defensively, Rose led the team with 15 digs and Carpenter added 12. Grace Zeier finished with 11 digs for the Tigers. Doane had 3.0 team blocks coming from Sluka and Delaney Burge. Each player had a solo block and teamed up for one block.
Next up for the Tigers is a trip to Yankton, S.D., to take on Mount Marty at 3 PM on Saturday, September 14.
